Service introduction

Thank you for the opportunity to introduce you to our company and services.

PAYROLL

We deliver payroll services specifically to the following two groups:

  1. The small to medium size business who would like to outsource their payroll
  2. Bookkeepers, Accountants and Auditors (who choose to outsource their client’s payroll)

Any small to medium size business which has any number of employees (even below 5) , can make use of our services, which are the following:

  • Providing professional payslips (basic salary, tax and other deductions, loans, leave, bonusses, cash in advance);
  • Calculating monthly employee tax payable to SARS (PAYE, UIF, SDL);
  • Submitting the monthly EMP201 on E-filing (monthly employee tax summary);
  • Submitting the EMP501 twice a year to SARS, after the reconciliations were done according to amounts declared and payments made to SARS;
  • Issuing the IRP5/IT3A certificates for employees once a year;
  • Monthly UIF declarations to the Department of Labour to update UIF amounts and employee information;
  • Providing monthly reports and making backups of all payroll information.

We provide the same services to Bookkeepers, Accountants and Auditors and focus more on the individual who has his or her own business in this field and does not want to attend to the payroll of their clients themselves due to TIME and MONEY.

BENEFITS WHEN OUTSOURCING PAYROLL:

  • No payments of monthly salaries and employee taxes to a permanent worker / payroll administrator;
  • No salary payments when the payroll administrator goes on leave or sick leave. You only pay for the services delivered and therefore you save in the long run;
  • No annual license fees and training costs regarding payroll software programs;
  • More time to focus on other important business tasks;
  • Peace of mind that all payroll related tasks will be taken care of on time.

UIF

We deliver the following services regarding Unemployment Insurance Fund (UIF)

  • Registration of employers and employees for UIF;
  • Handling the settling of UIF arrears, interest and penalties (company workers as well as domestic workers, gardeners and aupairs);
  • Assistance with monthly UIF payments and submitting information;
  • Assistance with advance UIF payments.

OTHER REGISTRATIONS

  • Registration of employers with SARS for PAYE, UIF, SDL;
  • Registration of employees with SARS for income tax numbers.

Please contact me for an appoitment to discuss your needs or a quotation.

Kind regards,

Mariè Norval

INDEPENDENT CONTRACTORS VS EMPLOYEES

Many small businesses owners make the mistake to think that their emoloyees are independent contractors because, according to them, the employees are not permanently employed and the employer then does not pay any taxes for these employees.

Any employee who works for more than 24 hours per month, should be paying UIF by law. The employee contributes 1% of his/her gross salary to the Unemployement Insurance Fund and the employer als contributres 1% of the employee’s gross salary to UIF.

If a worker receives R2000.00 in his pocket (nett salary), the employer should pay R20.20 and the worker should pay R20.20 to the Department of Labour for UIF. Thus, the gross salary (before deductions) is R2020.20. (The employee pays R20.20 and gets out R2000.00 and the employer also pays R20.20).

Any employee with a salary below the tax threshold, will only pay UIF and not yet PAYE (Pay as you earn).

(You are liable to pay PAYE tax if you earn more than a nett monthly salary of R5833.00 in the 2015 year of assessment, and are younger than 65 years of age.)

Even if your employees get paid per hour. It does not matter how little the salary is, if they work for more than 24 hours in a month, the employer is liable to pay over the UIF to the Department of Labour.

Who qualifies as independent contractors? (for whom you do not have to pay over any taxes – UIF or PAYE)

A contract worker issues an invoice for services delivered as agreed upon by both parties for the period they agreed on.
